There's some new info come out of E3 about the game, after the Hope trailer.

Here is the list of announcements, and here is a quick summary:

War Zones
Team PvP combat revolving around faction Vs faction. I'm not a dedicated PvPer, so it doesn't jump out at me.


Non-human Races
Their manner of describing the non-human races has me a bit alarmed, actually. It makes it sound like your class choice determines which non-human races you can be. While I have no doubt there would be a lot of overlap, at the same time it seems like an odd choice.


Appearance: Equipment and armour
There's a video showing armour progression of a Bounty Hunter. The video displays how the Bounty Hunter advances over time, both in skills and equipment used. From the looks of it, the armour itself won't be amazingly customisable, and may consist of just a single large piece. That's a bit of a disappointment. Hopefully between now and release next year they work on that. Of course that's just speculation on my part.


Player ships
OH GOOD LORD this could only be cooler if they had MASSIVE BOOBS attached. We get our own ship determined by our faction/class, and can customise it somewhat. In addition, it's where our companions hang out so we can have KotOR style between mission conversations.


Holy Trinity of MMO
Revealed in the interview on the site is the fact that the game DOES use the holy trinity of DPS, tank and support. However it does seem that just being a certain class does not tie you directly into being a certain one of the three. With the advanced class system discussed earlier, when you reach a certain level your have the option of taking one of two advanced classes determined by your base class. With that your character specialises in one of the three. The only examples given so far is that the Sith Warrior can be either DPS or Tanking, the Republlic Trooper can be a ranged tank, the Smuggler can do a lot of crowd control, and that the Jedi Consular can heal.

Player ships made me squeel almost as much as the 'hope' cinematic.

To my own surprise, species being class specific actually REALLY appeals to me.
It's on aspect I actually liked about WoW (and something I hate about cataclysm) because it gives a little more constraint and ensures we don't see an over abundance of just one race, or races who are classes outside their usual cultural boundaries; and since I'm a total StarWars twit I get irked when I see something that doesn't make sense (Imperial Wookiees!)

The lack of customizable armor is disappointing but expected considering it's BioWare and their game equipment is usually like that.

Over all I'm totally nuts for it!

My houses in SWG took, literally, days of gameplay to decorate. Think TOR will do that to me again?

I know most MMOs don't do customisable stuff, I'm just spoilt because my three MMOs I've played in have been City Of X, Champions Online and Star Trek Online, three games with pretty good customisation. And it would be nice to be able to give yourself an iconic appearance of your choosing, rather than the latest gear you come across.

Indeed, that's how I've always felt. Appearance slots should be a priority for them if they go the gear route.

heh i really hope that the customization is awesome......REALLY hope so i also hope that races aren't class specific in such a way that i cant have Say a Twi'lek Jedi or a Zabrek Trooper.

Pretty much sums up why Sith may have less non humans, mostly regarding Force users, Chiss allied with the Sith so obviously Imperial agents make sense for them, I imagine that Bounty hunter would have a plethora of races aswell. Force users could easily have fewer choices regarding the Sith, since they dont like non Sith, but in canon they're recruiting who they can due to war needs, so I hope we at least get some of the basic races like Twi'lek and Nautolans etc.

Considering this -is- Bioware I'd be surprised if they don't have appearance tabs, or some kind of system to swap stats to different sets of armour. They tend to be all for customisation and uniqueness between players.

To add; YES!

On player housing, I hadn't even discovered Roleplay in my SWG days (A damn shame) but apparently I still RP'd now that I look back, Tattooine Sunsets with a bunch of friends in our city, awesome, not to mention like 'Nausea did, you could spend AGGGESS decorating a home, every shop every single shop and home was different. Player Housing in SWG was simply epic, I am kind of amazed very few MMO's have used this again.

If they implement something similar to TOR I think I'll pee myself a little in excitement. Here's hoping the ships interiors and such are all fully customizable, I've just a feeling that they won't be.

As long as I can build a dungeon again. >_>

For realsies though, I imagine it will be pre-set interiors with maybe some extras you can add on to make it unique.
