I've been messing with a character concept for ages, I keep changing parts of it, but can never seem to get the whole thing right.

I'm pretty settled on the general background (see below), but I'll be damned if I can't find a name for him I like.

Names for him I have had (and then change, delete and recreate) are:

Doctor Jackal
Canaan (old biblical name)
Dakka (name of an ancient city where a temple of Thoth was built)


The character is connected to the Egyptian pantheon - but not a god himself. He is connected to one of the ancient gods of Egypt via an artifact. Specifically he'll be an aspect of Thoth. His basic story is he was raised in a devoutly Muslim family and well-educated. He stumbles into a discovery, through a complete mishap caused by VIPER (who were researching the apparent "demise" of APEP).

This discovery, a necklace in particular, is what channels his powers and even at times, guides him spiritually.

He is conflicted (a little) by trying to retain his Muslim roots and traditions, while apparently serving the will of an allegedly pagan god.

He's really just my homage to Doctor Strange, with a little Egyptology thrown into the mix. I thought I'd like Dakka for a name, but I don't. I'd like something a little more silver/bronze age.
