Hey all I was reading the Cryptic frontpage and saw this.

http://www.champions-online.com/node/594840

* Vibora Bay Becomes Revelation
The expansion formerly known as Vibora Bay has a new, more descriptive name: Champions Online – Revelation! We’ll be talking quite a bit more about it in the coming weeks.
* It’s Free!
We heard our community and we acted. Champions Online – Revelation will now be available to everyone at no extra charge. That is a free expansion pack for all Champions Online players.
* A True Expansion
Champions Online – Revelation is a full-fledged expansion. It’s a brand new way for you and your friends to enjoy the game together.
* March, 2010
Revelation will be available mid-March, 2010. Video, screens, interviews, previews ... . All will be coming very soon.

==========

So it seems the voices were heard and the Vibora Bay expansion is gonna be free, I was waiting on more info before deciding if I was gonna go nuts or not but hey, anything that ends in 'and the thing we WERE gonna charge for is now free' is damn good by me, so bravo to the people who made complaints that didn't read "And this is how you are all literally Nazis...' and got them read by people who matter.

No idea if this is a duplicate post, it was posted on the main site on the 9th but I have no idea if it was posted here, just trying to spread the info and maybe please some people still sore.

Mentioned briefly I think. Still, nice to know Cryptic listened. Now if it turns out to be garbage I won't have to worry about spending money on it. They're taking their time announcing more info on it though, considering February is almost halfway over and it's supposed to come out mid-March.

I bet they'll do like they did before, starting March they'll do one a day info tidbits starting with fluffy stuff like talking about the 'half demon half angel' main villain of the zone and then talk about the new powers and zone crunch and such.

What's amazing to me is fanboi's are *still* raging on and on.

It reminds me of the Woody Allen joke...

There's two old ladies in a retirement home in the Catskills.

One lady looks to the other and says, "The food here is terrible!"

And the other lady nods and says, "Yes and such small portions!"

That joke to me, describes us gamers in a nutshell. smile

Wouldn't that be the opposite of a fanboi?

And besides, without that rage they wouldn't have changed their minds at all.

Well that's the joke...they love these games, become obsessed with them - and yet rant about how terrible they are. As in "food is terrible - yeah and such small portions".

I guess, I use the term fanboi to mean more "obsessed" rather than "adoring". You know, the guy who posts constantly on some forum about Lost or the Simpsons but continually laments how terrible the show has become. The crank who rants about how terrible a quarterback is - and yet continually renews his season tickets and buys inflatable sofas with the team logo on it.

Nerdragers, probably describes it better. And just so we're clear I am guilty of this myself, so I realize I am part of this strange behavior as well.

While I'm not one to rant, I will vent when something like Champions (Which I've sunk an unacceptable amount of money and time into) frustrates me.

Do I say the whole product sucks? Nah. I wouldn't be playing if that were true.

I just get annoyed with whatever is causing the problem.

... Lagmuria.

Didn't they fix that while breaking everything else?

Either that, or he should start posting in his first language, cause English isn't it.
