GENESIS LEAGUE Genesis League, is designed to be an anti-Viper group. A collection of heroes dedicated to fighting and eradicating VIPER.
We’ll be a JLA/Avengers type group, with a very heroic feel. We have a few anti-heroes in the group, but moving forward, we'll stay away from dark characters.
Any origin, back story and themes are welcome – we just ask your character be very interested in focusing on VIPER’s defeat and eventual destruction.

REGULAR MEETING TIMES Our regular team meetings are now scheduled every Friday night at 7PM Pacific (10PM Eastern). All meetings are option, and all events are open to members and non-members. You can view the events in calendar format here:

but red is right, and with all the content that is anti-viper there is no lack of rp martial, what i can predict is weekly or bi-weekly rp events, forum activity and...comic covers, man does them with photoshop, they're nice!
I am going to update this thread every day with tidbits of info for a little while. I will build this incrementally and slowly, I am in this for the long haul!
We’re going to be low-level for a while. I tend to level very slowly, and I know if I bring some COH friends aboard, they level slowly too. So IC our group will be fledgling and struggling to achieve distinction and victory. I consider this an asset of sorts, it builds gradual momentum and it also allows our group to fail at first, and learn its trade through the “school of hard knocks”.
I consider this a feature, something that will make our group’s lore incremental and rich, but for those who mostly prefer end-game characters and content this could be a huge drawback.
For this reason, our group might be a superb place to park an alt that you choose to take out for a few hours a week and enjoy some RP with and gradually level with.
Gila is right, we'll have regular weekly meetings/events, all of them voluntary. I will post more details on this in the days ahead.
I don't think Rook's much of a joiner, exactly, and I don't know how much longer I'll be playing the game, but if you need more of a heavy-hitter for backup...well, she's holding a bit of a grudge against VIPER for past business with them, so feel free to hit me up for a hand.

Gila has it right, nothing radical and perhaps even cooperative with law enforcement at some level.
Kind of like how Commissioner Gordon claims he can't be held responsible for Batman's actions, but then exchanges information with him, knowing he can cut through red tape due to his "renegade" status.
Just enough, so that those bound by the law tightly can plausibly deny they are involved. And just enough so that if the Genesis League decides a faction/group needs to be taken out, they can proceed without miles of red tape from UNTIL and other groups.
No major morality issues though, it's a hero group still, first and foremost.

I'd love to have Overwatch acting in a Gordon-esque manner then. He has access to 90% of the MCPD's resources and connections with law enforcement in major cities throughout the world, if you'd like to discuss it elsewhere, I'd be overjoyed.
Yes, of course, sounds perfect. Just as important as who is in the group, is who is just outside of it as general contacts and sources of information. It makes for great plot hooks. I love this idea. I will be in touch.

I was there, it is a grudge well-earned.
Yes. Yes it is. She still can't kill without her Lord allowing it, but...most VIPERs she meets these days...well, let's just say the prison's coma ward is expanding rapidly.

It's too bad Rook isn't sticking around. She has a superb Primus page and would get along really well with Osprey (the leader of Genesis League), I think. He was a former Theologian, until tragedy struck, and would find the spiritual/religious quality of Rook fascinating.
I understand your frustration with the game though, and lets face it there's so many MMO choices out there right now.
My order of character creation tends to be cool-looking character -> fun powers -> character history -> finding and SG.
I'm only at stage 2 with my new swordsman Six, and I can see his story turning out really well woven into this. Perhaps a former VIPER agent or something.
I promised to add more info every day on this group, so here goes. This is provided just for "flavor" and "context", as I want the stories moving forward to be as fluid and collaborative as possible amongst the members of the group:
Genesis League - Rumors/Info (Easy to Obtain):
Genesis League is “officially” a security wing for the Genesis Corporation (aka GenCorp). GenCorp is a financial transaction management company. The corporation was founded by the legendary but mysterious entrepreneur: Howard Bloom.
Some law enforcement officials and agencies have always been skeptical of Howard Bloom’s motives. However, to date, he has never violated the law. He is also widely lauded for his superb philanthropic efforts. In particular, his advancements in the fight against pandemics and his bold cancer research into mismatched repair genes have gained him International notoriety and fame.
Genesis League was established on January 10, 2010, and despite the fact Genesis Corporation has nominal security needs, it has begun to recruit powerful super-heroes, citing they are necessary to protect the assets of the corporation. This has some law officials suspicious as it is appearing more and more like "Genesis League" is a front of some kind.
Genesis League established a small headquarters in the penthouse suite of a modest GenCorp office tower in Millennium City. All of Genesis League’s actions have been completely legal so far, they have even sponsored Little League Baseball, in the poorer regions of the city’s outskirts. It then nominated a mysterious agent known as Osprey to act as Chief Security Officer for the group.
Little is known about Osprey. He is a super-powered agent, but with no affiliation with UNTIL or any national governments. He had helped the RCMP recently dismantle a VIPER operation in northern Alberta but no other activity of his is known or documented. There are agents that believe Osprey spent a significant time in Africa at one point in his career, but this has never been proven.
Photographs of Osprey show he has angelic wings on his back and is capable of flight. He is also covered in a unique silvery suit of armor, highly resistant to piercing and explosives and yet covers the agent like a smooth, supple layer of skin.
It is known that Osprey has begun to discretely recruit other “super powered” agents and individuals.

I would like to join your RP, I mean if you don't mind a newbie that is. I know the game, but I've never rp'd in an actual video game (it's always been text based on forums). While I realize that doesn't exactly look good I assure you I'm not stupid and I understand the premise. Anyways, this is just one of my characters (lvl 15):
Oliver Stiel (IGN: Steel Chimera)
Oliver Stiel, born to a family in the WPP, because of national security issues his identity was never registered, and he became a property of the government. Many have heard about the horrible experiments performed behind closed doors, but project Myth produced some of the most diabolical genetic and technological failures the world has known. Oliver was the one exception, he was called the "Steel Chimera" a perfect blend of technology and genetic experimentation.
Of course I've got a lot more ideas as far as background and personality (that could connect him to Viper etc...), I just got across what I could in the bio box, only so many characters fit.
Edit: Oh and just to explain the multiple costumes, I have it set up as sort of terrain based functionality, obviously the one with the fins is meant for oceanic venture (Monster Island shores/Lemuria), or otherwise wet terrain. The one with the small horns is meant for non-level and dry terrain (such as the desert). Then the main outfit (big goat horns) is meant for urban areas (millennium city). Then i have a fourth outfit I just made today, but I don't have a picture. It'll be made for combat and stealth purposes.

Honestly you're fine, all fine, new RPers are great, we're not harsh or elitist and your bio is fine and very creative, Hell i got two toons in this, montage who has no personal stake in viper and eclipse agilo who i made from CoX and his issue is a former employer is Viper and not on good terms, We'd love it.
