Alright, this is a character ties thread for all those MCPD folks out there. I'd really like us all to be connected and or have a coherent base to look to for our lore and everything. So! Post your heroes or groups that are members of the MCPD here, and we can collaborate on writing them all together.
I'll be forthcoming with my own work as soon as I deem it acceptable for public consumption, heheh. Expect some tomorrow!
My planned character (who has not been created yet) Phantom Steel works for the MCPD. He was a normal officer before obtaining his power armor and now still technically works for them, at the same rank he was before, but he now works half the time as Phantom Steel and the other half of the time as Officer Craig Samson, citing health reasons when asked about the halving of his shift time. So far no one has really asked about it.
"My wings flap forever onward in the face of adversity... my beak shall pierce the shrouds of evil and deceit to find truth and goodness within... my shining plumage is a beacon of hope to the oppressed and the downtrodden... I am... the Galah!"
Not certain if this qualifies, but I know our characters have met in game, so you can judge. Operator used to be part of a villain group that specialized in robberies, but circumstances led him to turn himself into the MCPD. As part of the deal surrounding his surrender, Operator now works for the MCPD as an operative on a tight leash. He's not happy about the arrangement and constantly reminds other people just how unhappy he is, but he will follow orders and work with police and heroes because he honors his bargains.
I'm still working out some details, but the character has some interesting possibilities.
Det. Osprey is a young new face on the force. He's trying to find himself a place in a superhero's world. He's trying to make a name for himself, so he often looks into things he shouldn't like confidential cases and the like.
Main Keioseth - Kyran McIlroy, Unit Director of Meta-SWAT Alts "Coyote" - JD, Federal Marshal from New Mexico, Member of the Statesmen Overwatch Recon - Faith Ascenzi, MCPD Overwatch Operative Seikan - Gregory Bishop, Gabe "Azunai" Bishop's younger brother Corsica - Corsica Celestin, Elementalist Back Burner Krimson Drake - Russian Accented, Vodka Powered, Robot Dragon Famine - Member of the Four Horsemen
Overwatch met Haunted, who's an ordinary MARS Detective, but has a poltergeist following her around that only see can she. I'd Certainly be happy to meet up with some of you guys, Especially since she doesn't use the channel much.
Not directly MCPD - but Genesis League operated in your city...and I'd welcome any links/plots tied to some of your own, if such things are convenient for you. Not necessary we do link of course, but if any of this interests you - have at it:
Genesis League seeks a relationship of trust and cooperation with the MCPD. They have sent formal letters stating exactly this to any MCPD agent that has established a public name for themselves (and isn't covert). ((I can send the contents of this letter to you in-game if you'd like)).
The league is stationed in Millennium City - and have - in the past asked for legal warrants and writs through the Millennium City attorney general - and gotten them to execute fast arrests. Genesis League has their own lawyers - and some quite well liked in the city and by the police, because they were formerly cracker-jack prosecutors who got convictions. One was considered for an Assistant DA position, before moving to the private sector and Herman Bloom.
Alas, not all MCPD agents are convinced of the group's intentions...
Some believe the entire group is an elaborate front for VIPER - and point to some data to cast suspicion on their intentions.
Others have worked with Genesis League or its members and believe they are a law-abiding and useful force to keep VIPER terror at bay in the city. They point to their recent activity exposing a VIPER nest on the west side and through cooperation of the MCPD, brought down several agents of that nest and dismantled a plot to brainwash a city counselor.
Just tonight however, a GenCorp employee came to the police saying the computer systems at GenCorp are unstable - and that many of the Genesis League super-powered agents were flying around the perimeter of the GenCorp tower concerned about a security breech. She's pretty sure something is going on...something...not entirely above board.
And it just so happens the financier of Genesis League, a multi-billionaire and philanthropist by the name of Herman Bloom has been reported for over a week - officially reported missing by a domestic servant of his on Friday.
"Baddabing" (actual name being Joey Bagadona if using his MCPD records) is an informant for the police force living in Westside, having close ties with The New Purple Gang to the point of being an actual member of said gang himself. His relationship with the police is fresh so Joey's still on thin ice until he can prove his worth, but in the past six to eight months he's assisted in various drug busts and other events under his alias.
Blacksheep's been trying to fit in within Millenium City for a few years. Besides assisting in the apprehension of a few criminals and stopping a few robberies, etc, he's probably known only by name.
If you're looking for a meet up, Haunted is still working on Puprle Gang missions so may call on 'Badabing' for information, and the Poletergeist following her is a (former) Purple Gang Member.
Sounds good to me! He's still a level 10 and a generally new character, but I'll be grinding him up and would definitely still be welcome to any interactions. Add @Beeds to friends and pop me a tell whenever you see me around.
Currently creating a policeman who's part of another locale's police force, having been sent to the MCPD as a learning experience on superhero police intervention and proper civilian safety during metahuman crime.
Munitions/Gadgeteering is his primary shtick. The guns and gadgets were given to him as part of the Overwatch program. The stuff from PA(And one power from Elec) are results of later upgrades added onto his suit. The suit was also a part of the Overwatch program.
If you want me to explain -that- I'll be happy to do so as well.
