I have been toying around with this idea with Engine Nineteen and Zen (@Drakenvalt) a bit recently IC, and I think it could be great fun to put together something like this (and a global channel for people to participate). The basic idea is to gather a group of ostensibly good-aligned psychic heroes and set up a telepathic network for them to exchange ideas and wisdom, converse and network with each other.

There are a lot of neat RP hooks in the universe which would make a group like this fun:

1) The group could act as a foil for PSI, Menton and the usual group of mental nasties. In this sense, The Eleven would sort of be a psychic Trimegistus (sp) Council that seeks monitor and curtail the activites of these evil psychics.

2) The group faces a huge problem with the public perception of psychics and mentalists. Together they discuss ways to improve the perception of psychics in the world and strive to improve the awareness of psychic manifestations and abilities. The group attempts to shift public perception through the deeds of its members toward a more positive view and explore the possibilities of this amazing new ability that is manifesting itself more frequently in humanity.

3) The opposite of point two is TIN FOIL HAT TIME!!!! Those psychics are up to something and it isn't good!!!! People could spread rumors about a secret cabal that seeks to enslave and dominate humanity. Conspiracies abound (for those outside the group).

At any rate I am putting this out here to gauge interest in such a group. The name "The Eleven" was something I totally came up with off the cuff, meaning it has no real significane, other than as a working title, and the fact that I like to name secret cabals after numbers.. >.>

One thing I want to emphasize for clarity, before I open this to discussion, is this is not a supergroup, but rather, a gathering of psychics. A sort of Illuminati, if you will wink Members of this council could be in other supergroups or be independents, as we would have a channel that we would use to represent the telepathic communication network.

Thoughts? Interests? Let me know please.

So far the interested parties are

Zen (@Drakenvalt)
Engine Nineteen (@BigLammo)
Radiance (@KaiZero)
Ego Trip (@RunRiot)
Psionistar (@BlackstarRising)
Ultra (@cutthroat_porter)
Malrend (@Malrend)
Intelligentsia (@Doctor Comics)
Cor'daron (@Shevrash)

Ego Trip is only 17, but showing promise as a powerful Psychic Hero himself. He currently helps Lead the Teen Hero group "The Prodigy".

I wouldn't mind getting him involved, but I don't think they'd let a Teenager have a full voice on said Council, despite Ego's insistence that he would deserve one.

RunRiot seems to have the correct attitude, and strikes me as the kinda guy who would be more then happy to fill you in if you had any questions on Champions Lore if you wanted to make a character that 'fits in', which is why I will refer to him as the Lore KGB *wink* If he don't know it, he'll probably be able to find it!----Drax40K

Maybe...maybe not...psychics might look at things from a different, more thoughtful, angle.... (sorry couldn't resist)

Running your own SG tends to lend you some credibility, and what's a year when a lot of seventeen year-olds get tried as adults when they commit crimes?

True enough, and Ego's been very active in trying to change the perception of Psychics and combat Psi.

Hopefully some other Psychics could get involved with this. It might also help me find Ego's former Mentor from his Sidekick days.

I think the Eleven is a neat idea and I'm glad there's a member of the Statemen involved. It seems to me that may be the way to go for this group: finding one psychic from all the major teams and organizations that want to participate.

I have a psychic or two -- Intelligentsia and Viper-Girl -- but the latter is too young and the former has no team. I do think a Viper psychic would fit well in your group. I'll also keep an eye out in case any of the Legacy heroes of the Blood Moon project end up with telepathy.

I'd love to be a part of something like this. I used to role play a mentalist in WoW (:X Don't hate me!) and I really loved it. Though I don't have someone right now, I could easily dream someone up if this idea pulls through.

I have, Malrend@Malrend (Double-stuff o yeah).
A mutant telepath who depending on how he chooses to manifest his abilities (Telekinesis/Telepathy, or separated) changes shape and personality, the dominating one being a Psychologist for superpowered individuals, this includes marriage counseling! He would be delighted if he could join.

- Ciro: Avatar of Desert Storms.
- Nuvia: A timid teen, imbued with the fury of a Volcano.

Awesome, so it seems like our little coetrie is growing. There is still some room if anyone else is interest, but I think the next topic would be coming up with some kind of in-game, IC kick off event to get this going.

I am open to suggestions. Perhaps some kind of psychic emergency brings these heroes together to discuss something/do something?

Whatever we decide, I vote to hold off until after Blood Moon is concluded so as to not create a scheduling nightmare lol

After Blood Moon is fine by me.

Hmm.. a Psychic emergency.
Well most Telepaths (and mystics) are able Astral travel in Champions right?
So a disturbance connected to that, might be a good reason for powerful Psychics to gather.

Given Radiance's...issues, its probably most likely she'd get pulled in as a matter of association rather than any obvious merit on her part, so whatever works for people works for me smile

I have to admit a tin foil hat plot would be perfect for a frickin' Gray.

I think some kind of political conspiracy plot, perhaps involving PSI, is what I would suggest. Here's something to think about: in the next expansion, the one after Blood Moon, we're going to get a Lair which uses our Nemeses and is a team mission, so that we fight a collection of Nemeses.

I suggest that each member of the Eleven make up a psychic villain which is part of a shadow organization, either a part of PSI or VIPER or some combination. The 'evil psychic conspiracy,' and these bad guys would be the adversaries between now and the next major update. Once we confront them in that new Lair, the plot is over and we can think up the next one.
