So you want to be a superhero?

Founded by a retired superhero in the wake of recent attacks on Millennium City, the Halcyon Academy seeks to fight crime and better the world in two basic ways – by providing a low-cost, high-quality education to those who might not otherwise be able to afford one, and by training the superheroes of tomorrow. Staffed by accredited teachers and a host of experienced heroes serving as mentors to those amongst the student body who choose the life of a professional good samaritan, Halcyon Academy strives to provide a strong foundation that will allow its students – no matter their eventual career choice – to have the best chance at success.

Halcyon Academy is a spin-off of the Star Trek Online guild, Halcyon Epsilon Fleet. Our inspiration comes from groups such as Marvel's X-Men, Generation X and Young Avengers, as well as DC's Young Justice and Teen Titans.

Like our sister guild, Halcyon Academy is a group dedicated to telling stories, making friends, and enjoying the game together. We’re run by three officers – myself, Ivarion and Zizi – and it’s our job to make sure the SG is running smoothly, people are able to find one another for RP and teaming, and generally keep the Academy a groovy, fun place to be.

There is a simple application required for joining and a few guidelines, mostly related to ensuring that the members of the group are mature and respectful of not only their guildmates, but of other players that they run into. That said, if you make a good first impression, chances are good you'll be approved in no time flat.

Sounds like a guild that will be doing a good job of spreading quality RP through out Champions. Deny all tiny cat girls with the breast slider all the way up for me, will ya? they infect teen groups >_>.

We absolutely do. Powers don't make a hero - the person does.

Just a quick note to say that we're still here, and in fact, we've grown to a whopping twenty-seven members! Far more successful than I'd been expecting us to be this early.

It'll be great to see how things shake out once the game is live. We've got a great core of people.

I like the idea of the Halcyon Academy, but I'm not sure that my character's story fits in with the group concept.

My origin is in the Roleplay forum here, entitled "Born of light and fire." Could you have a read, and tell me whether you think the Red Templar is compatible with the Academy?

Oh, no, I think he could definitely fit in well as a mentor or a student, depending on how much learning he needs to do. We have a few divinely-themed characters, in fact, along with a handful of folks with more demonic-orientated origins, so Red Templar would certainly fit in from that perspective.

*ahem* As a new student at Halcyon Academy who happens to be a Japanese catgirl with decent sized breasts, Yuki wishes it to be known that anyone complaining about well-endowed teen catgirls will be used as a scratching post.

Or at least denied the complimentary tickets to all of her concerts that the rest of the students and faculty will be receiving. (Of course, if you also hate Jpop, you may not mind that lmao)

I will note, however, that the Headmaster will likely be politely asking said catgirl to buy a decent pair of pants in the very near future.

Yuki assumes the Headmaster is specifically referring to the outfit worn by her alter ego, Kurai, and will endeavor to convince Kurai to recognize the awesomeness that is Bell Bottoms. It will take much effort, though. Just getting Kurai to agree to wear any clothing at all when in control of their body took coercion spell so complex it took three weeks to cast it. Yuki was quite happy to spend her time on that spell, however, after Kurai got them arrested for public nudity when they were only 13.

Eep, Yuki has just informed me that I'm not supposed to mention that. Her parents went to great expense to keep that off of Yuki's record. It seems I will be spending the next hour pretending to be a scratching post. v.v

I am also certain the Headmaster will be happy to know that Yuki has promised not to pose for Playboy until she is at least 21-years-old.

Meanwhile, I don't know how the hell it happened, but Halcyon Academy has met and surpassed the 40 member mark.

Considering that Zizi, Ivarian and I started this thing up on a whim as a fun thing to do with a couple of buddies, I am absolutely flabbergasted and flattered to see how the supergroup has taken off. I'm sure we'll lose some people after the free month, but to them and those who stick around, I can only say "Thank you."

As of today, Halcyon Academy has gone invite only.

With 70 members, we were starting to get overwhelmed, and needed to make a change so that we didn't start forgetting our own names, let alone the names of our members.
