The International Superheroes League is a superteam consisting of heroes representing different countries from all over the world. The league was formed by Captain Philippines and U.S. Ranger in an effort to globally unite influential heroes to better improve communications and operations towards fighting criminals and terrorists. Although funded by their respective governments, league representatives do not necessarily pursue agendas by their country's political leaders or military. The team also focuses on practice of combat training and polishing battlefield intelligence. The league's members are limited to one male and one female representative from each country.

[ O.O.C. ]

Character Requirements:
An I.S.L. hero must be a born and raised native from the country he/she represents. The hero must also be in good terms with his country's government and general population. O.O.C. the player must know basic knowledge about their character's country when it comes to tradition, culture and history in order to role-play them more accurately. Your character's hero name and costume must also be symbolic towards its respective country and personify it's nation, whether in flag colors or in some other fashion. While it is not a requirement, making a character accordingly to your own racial heritage is encouraged as many of our founding members have done!

Examples of Acceptable Hero Names:
Captain Philippines: Self-explanatory, the country's name
Atalanta: Greek name, name of a Greek goddess
Kamen Musume, Shao Pai Long: Names are purely Japanese/Chinese oriented
Tricolore: Name of the Flag of France, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_France
Quick-Shot Boricua: Boricua is a term Puerto Ricans use to refer to themselves

Examples of Un-Acceptable Hero Names:

The Eagle: Too general, many nations use this symbol
John Smith: Too broad in origins, could be American, English, etc.
Lightning Kid: Doesn't personify a country, only the hero's powers

You must submit a brief or expanded backstory for approval.

Example of an acceptable backstory:
Zhou Yun is treasured by his country, being a former Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics. As fate would have it, he was disqualified from the games as he himself reported having rapid cellular regeneration to the Olympics committee. Wanting to represent mainland China in any form, he agreed to join INTERPOL as a special agent when the government approached him with the idea. Even though he is no longer an Olympian, his people admired his honesty and patriotism and support his new career as a superhero codenamed Agent China. Specializing in martial arts and stealth, Agent China is usually seen fighting alongside Captain Philippines.

Example of an un-acceptable backstory:
Carlos Lopez aka Super Mexican Sombrero was just an ordinary taco street vendor in Guadalajara when he came across a magical sombrero which imbued him the ability to blow fire from his breath. He lures criminals and villains to his trap by singing Ranchera Mariachi songs then surprising them with his power. After accidentally setting an orphanage on fire, Super Mexican Sombrero was deported from his country. The only friend he has left is his chihuahua named Pedro and he now seeks a new life outside of Mexico as a superhero. Super Mexican Sombrero is usually equipped with his guitar and a bottle of Tequila.

All submissions will be reviewed and we will message you back!

[ Overview ]

Main Goals
Our aim is to promote a great RP community in the game along with achieving max levels and earning rewards.

Points of Focus
» Encouragement of server wide role-play.
» Weekly/Biweekly role-play events.
» Polishing of PVP skills through arena zones.

Who We Are
We're a group of role-players and fans of the Champions lore who enjoy PvP and PvE in the same token. We are former CoX players who promoted a similar supergroup like this one in the Virtue server. We like to have fun and make friends out of character along with in game immersion.

What We're Looking For
» We are looking for skilled, competitive, mature players with a good sense of humor. However, our minimum age required to apply is 17 years-old.
» Players who can agree to disagree and get along well with others. Those who cause drama within the superteam will be removed.
» Players must be able to differentiate between OOC (Out of Character) and IC (In Character).
» Players that can initiate role-play with others outside of the superteam and promote character immersion.
» Along with the belief that role-playing should coincide with game mechanics, we role-play our characters accordingly to official lore. So if you want to play a time traveling Half-Kobold Vampire who crossed over from the realm of Azeroth, you may want to look elsewhere.

[ FAQ ]

Is superteam chat in-character or out-of-character?
In-character! Your hero will be given a com-unit in-character. If you want to say something OOC, just make sure to use brackets.

Do you have Ventrilo/Teamspeak?
Not at the moment but we are working to have one up and soon after release.

Can I have an alt in the superteam?
We are not accepting alts at the moment. However, we will accept your character even if he/she is not your main, provided he/she is played at a reasonable pace towards max level and makes an effort to join in superteam events.

My character's country is taken! Do I still have a chance to join at all?
Nothing is set in stone as things change due to either story evolvement or out of character issues. Submit your character idea anyway so we can keep you in file just in case.

Please submit your backstory or any other inquiries to me through this forum's private message system!

Thread updated with links to each characters' profiles, some of which are still works-in-progress. Also, every member who joins prior to launch (Sept. 1st) will be regarded in-character as founding members of the I.S.L.

Just a friendly reminder to those sending submissions, make sure you read all the prerequisites when it comes to names, costumes and backstories along with the FAQs at the bottom of the thread. But don't be afraid to ask me questions through PMs also! Thanks everyone! cool

I love your idea here. Its like the united nations, but with superheroes and crime fighting.

If I hadn't already found Zeta Force, I'd be upset that Canada was already taken, so I could join smile

Sorry, I misread your post and deleted my first reply. IRL you don't have to live in the same country as your hero. Just as long as you know basic history, culture and tradition of your chosen nation.

Fun Fact: Alot of our players however, rolled characters accordingly to their own racial heritage but this is not a requirement.

I've been working on a British character, but he's a globe trotter rather than a national.

I actually have been thinking of a German (or Austrian since that's what my family is), maybe after I tool around Open Beta a while I'll find something that fits, it'd be cool to play a German/Austrian who (gasp) WASN'T an evil Nazi!

So hey just a random strange question, do Native Americans count as a 'nation'? I have Comanche blood and I did have an old character I used for a temporary alt group my SG did that was a 'make a character based on one of your nationalities/races' kinda thing, and the CO powersets would be really good to remake him as I wanted to actually.

Fine, you can make a Native American character, but then we're even for the monstrous practices of European Imperialism.

We only want characters that are either your main or a secondary hero you plan on getting to max level. Thanks!

Australian Avenger's Creed:

"Where ever beer goes unrefridgerated, I'll be there.
Where ever a careless tourist steps on a koala bear, I'll be there.
Where ever an abbo asks for change even though I just gave him change for the bus so he could visit his sister, I'll be there to tell him back off mate I just gave you change."

Hello there! Representing Spain I introduce myself, Guardian Hispania!

I am an old CoX player and as a huge fan of superheroes comics I've been waiting this game for a long time. Give me a couple days and I'll get a good background story for my hero.

By the way, I am planing on taking the role of might/tank smile
